This event has been held at the end of August / beginning of September since 2007, and grows in content and support each year.
This event in Holyhead is a major sailing event centred around the marinaand Holyhead Sailing Club.As well as racing, we organise a parade of sail, invariably involving a sea battle with cannon and rifle courtesy of the Anglesey Hussars and “Hearts of Oak”. The programme for 2014 has yet to be finalisedbut the usual activities will include a pirate re-enactment team, and shore side activities including Coracle Building, maritime crafts, model boats etc.There will be the usual evening parties in the sailing club, featuring, on the Saturday, the "Coffin Dodgers", and a “Words & Music” night on Sunday.The wandering jazz band “Steamhead” will be playing around the promenade and marina. The event is sponsored by many local and national bodies, including Holyhead Town Council, Ynys Mon Council, Holyhead Marina, Holyhead Sailing Club, Stenaline, Irish Ferries, the Yachtshop and many other businesses.
